The Kleins

Last month I spent a morning with the Klein family, shooting for their holiday cards. When I shoot family photos, I try to keep things as unstructured as possible, because to me, beauty lies in real, quiet moments. Below are some of my favorites of the day.

Calf roping in Willcox, Ariz.

Recently I had the pleasure of photographing a teen in Willcox, Ariz., who received a first-of-its-kind open heart surgery to repair a narrowing of the aorta. Pre-surgery, Justin had ceased all athletics due to the high blood pressure associated with his midaortic syndrome. Now, four years later, Justin is back in the arena and attending Arizona State on a rodeo scholarship.
